Overview
PhillipCapital has different advisory wealth platforms for fund management, B2B and B2C services, where different internal user groups such as Financial advisor, Risk manager, Fund mangers each access their respective wealth platform to create orders for their clients.
The Problem
Due to the different platforms used, users who has a dual role or serving more than 1 market find it inefficient in managing transactions as users will need to access different platforms to create orders and monitor the transactions.
-
A user who has 2 roles (e.g a fund manger that is also a Financial advisor)
-
A user with a single role that serves 2 different markets (e.g a Fund manager that does B2B and B2C clients)
Our Solution
Research and design a single advisory wealth management platform to cater to the different group of users to assist them in managing their clients and transactions.
Research phrase
As different user groups are using the same module with the same user flow, the need to find a common user flow for all the different user groups that is efficient and familiar to the current users is a challenge. In order to do so, we have to know the current user flow and process for the module of each user group. This is done by conducting the following:
-
One on one user interview with users
-
Focus group to gather feedback
-
Competitive Analysis

Insights garnered
-
Users want to have a single order that can comprise of unit trust, stocks, ETFs, etc
-
Users want to view client’s profile,CKA status and overall available cash when placing orders
-
Troublesome to manually enter investment amount or percentage of investment
Persona and Problem Statement
After synthesizing the insights from the research, I created a persona based on the needs of a Financial Advisor as more than 50% of our users are Financial Advisors.

"John needs a more efficient way of creating orders with different asset classes and ensuring all essential information regarding the client for the orders are readily accessible."
User Journey Map
After defining the problem, I mapped out the user journey map of a Financial Advisor showing how the Financial Advisor create an order for his/her client.

Design System
UI Considerations
-
Keeping the interface clean and simple by having a legible and a clear hierarchy in Typography while the use of white spacing to keep layouts uncluttered
-
Having Consistency in terms of naming conventions, icons, input fields throughout the whole platform to assist users with task completion, efficiency, and satisfaction
-
UI elements to communicate status and next steps to reduce frustration for the users.
